What's Included
- Professional Experienced Maine Snowmobile guide
- Snowmobile Tours are up to 4 and 8 hours, but are modified to your desire.
- Snowmobile helmets are included and required for every rider.
- Tours are very flexible and tailored to your interests and abilities.
- Your guide will discuss the options and details, covering safety and instruction.
What to Bring
- Clothing: Temperatures vary throughout the day, so dress in warm layers, preferably not cotton. Warm, windproof outerwear is recommended, as are insulated winter boots and gloves. Thermal underwear and warm socks are also recommended.
Winter clothing is available for rent or purchase in our Store. - Miscellaneous Gear: cell phone, camera, sunglasses and sunscreen.
- Required: A Driver’s license and a credit card

- Meeting point: Your tour starts at our Northwoods Outfitters base in Greenville, Maine. Please remember to arrive early.
- Customized just for you: Tours are tailored to your interests and experience. There’s no need to decide in advance—it’s your trip! Riding times can vary depending on location, terrain, and fitness level.
- Weather: Due to our unpredictable weather, all tours go rain or shine. There are no refunds for inclement weather. However, if we determine conditions are unsafe and must cancel your trip, you will be notified and fully refunded immediately if you choose not to reschedule.
- Age Restrictions: Snowmobile renters must be over 21, and snowmobile drivers must be over 18. Drivers should be 21 or older to carry a passenger.
Local Snowmobile Rides
Moosehead Snowmobile Trail Ride
The Moosehead Snowmobile Trail is more than 166 miles long and completely circles Moosehead Lake. This is a full-day ride full of pristine views and interesting landmarks like the famous Mt. Kineo, B52 crash site, and Pittston farm, each with its own unique and fascinating history. Along the way, you can stop in several small towns for food, fuel, and a break. Tours stop as necessary for photos and commentary from your Maine guide.
Kineo Snowmobile Loop
If you like nature, beautiful rivers, and trails, we have the snowmobile trip for you. Our snowmobile guide will lead you along a scenic riverside trail, where you’ll ride past cascading falls, surrounded by trees and nature. This is an easy ride for most adults and children and takes 2-3 hours.
B52 Crash Site
This shorter local snowmobile ride (an easy half-day) leads you into the local forest and mountains above Greenville. A fascinating piece of local history, the B-52 crash site is a federally protected crash site that tells the story of a tragic yet remarkable event. I don’t want to ruin it for you, but your guided snowmobile tour with a Maine Guide will share the full story.
