Snowshoe Rentals
Tubbs snowshoes in a variety of sizesLooking for a fun winter activity? Our snowshoe rentals offer the perfect way to explore the trails, with sizes available for adults and kids. Hiking/walking snowshoe, the Wilderness perfectly blends functional technology and comfort. The Fit-Step decking provide ample flotation when the snow gets deep, while the tried- and- toe crampon and Tubbs heel crampon bring the traction and stability needed on varying terrain. The binding provides a supportive, but comfortable fit with easy and intuitive entry/exit.

Where should I Go?
Six miles of groomed X/C and snowshoe trails are open to the public for a small donation of $10. The trails are groomed weekly by volunteers who take pride in their work. They are open every day during the season.

Beautifully groomed trails for classic or skate skiing. Approximately 12 miles of well-maintained trails are available for all ability levels.
(5-Mile Loop, Moderate Difficulty): This scenic 5-mile cross-country ski trail forms a continuous loop, with additional side trails expanding the total distance to approximately 7 miles. The main loop starts and ends at the park entrance booth, offering a well-marked route through diverse terrain. Skiers and snowshoers will encounter a mix of gentle stretches and challenging sections, including steep inclines and sharp turns—beginners should proceed with caution. Most trail intersections feature signs providing distance markers and directional guidance to help navigate the network.
The AMC has an expansive recreation area just East of Moosehead Lake. There are more than?? miles of groomed ski trails. Day use is available from Greenville and Medawisla trailheads. For a truly special experience, sign up for the Hut-To-Hut multi-day trip. There are four different lodges, each with private cabins and food service. This is truly a unique backcountry experience that shouldn’t be missed.
Starting at the Birches in Rockwood, there are miles of trails and a great view of Mount Kineo from the lodge. Stop by the lodge for food and pay a small trail use fee.
