Trips are scheduled twice a day, running from December through April. Your adventure includes a snowmobile rental, fuel, and the expertise of a Registered Maine guide. No prior experience is necessary, so don't hesitate to contact us today to reserve your tour. Each trip includes a 2-person snowmobile, fuel, oil, a guide, and helmets. Please note that a minimum of 2 snowmobiles are required for group trips, but private trips can also be arranged to accommodate your preferences.

Snowmobile Sightseeing Tour

Your adventure begins in Greenville, where you will meet your guide and get your orientation and geared up at Northwoods Outfitters. The tour starts on well groomed trails that lead you from town into the pristine untamed wilderness that defines northern Maine.

These trails are part of the Interstate Trail System (ITS), offering both easy navigation and an ideal platform to hone your snowmobiling skills while learning the nuances of trail etiquette.

Woods, Wildlife, and Waterfalls Snowshoe Walk

Guided Maine Ice Fishing

You have seen other people doing it and you are probably wondering. "Are those guys nuts" sitting on the ice waiting for a fish to bite?

Ok fair enough, however we at Northwoods Outfitters have put together a comfortable trip that can provide an interesting day of ice fishing by combining other activities and an experienced Maine Guide good food and good company. Here is how the package goes:

We meet at Northwoods Outfitters in Greenville to get ready for our trip. From there we will take you out to an ice fishing house on Moosehead Lake where you will place your fishing "tip ups" in drilled holes in the ice. We will then go in to the warm hut and cook up some breakfast and some hot coffee and hot chocolate.

Your Maine guide will discuss the art of ice fishing and talk about the history of the Moosehead Lake region and how fishing relates to the areas economy. During the day you will have the opportunity to snowshoe and cross country ski on the lake while you are fishing. If the fishing is good that morning you will be able to cook your fish for lunch (we will have other food just in case)

We offer this trip by reservation only; please try to book in advance.

We will provide your fishing equipment, bait, food for 2 meals, and an ice house.

You will need appropriate winter clothing and a valid fishing license if you want to participate in the fishing.

Warm clothing, Snowshoes and X/C ski equipment is available for rent. Trip lasts 6-8 hrs
